On the night before Earth Day, Moen brought fashion, design and conservation together at the inaugural Upcycled Spring Gala at the Moen Design Center in Chicago. The gala celebrated Earth Day and our efforts to save 1 trillion gallons of water and repurpose 2,000 tons of ocean plastic by 2030 through Mission Moen.

Throughout the evening, guests mingled and explored a stunning collection of upcycled garments created by Katrin Schnabl, Chair of Fashion Design at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Schnabl made each of her designs using upcycled materials to highlight the world’s growing pollution problems and how plastic can be given new life in unique ways. Some attendees also came dressed to impress with garments and accessories made from unconventional recycled materials — all to compete for the grand prize of a free Moen faucet.

All proceeds from the event and the silent auction went to Friends of the Chicago River to support their work to improve the health of the Chicago River system.
